Mount Hope Lutheran Church is a Christ-Centered LCMS congregation with a particular emphasis on Sola Scriptura (Scripture alone), with Scriptural Engagement in all we do. As we focus on a saving relationship with God, through His gifts of Sola Gratia (Grace alone), Sola Fide (Faith alone) and Solus Christus (Christ alone) . These core doctrinal beliefs are at the very essence and heart of our confessional Christian faith and our Church's ministry.
Mission Statement: To bring the Biblical truth of salvation in Jesus Christ to our community and to provide growth in faith through education, worship, and celebration of the Sacraments.
Sunday Services
We offer a Worship service every Sunday morning at 9:00 a.m; Fellowship 10:15 a.m. with Adult Bible Study and Sunday School to follow at 10:30 a.m.
What We Do:
We praise God and gather around His words and grace, in prayer and thanksgiving, as we proclaim the Gospel message of salvation in our worship service each Sunday at 9:00 a.m. and on special occasions, ie. Reformation, Thanksgiving, Advent, Christmas, Lent and Easter.
We help and prepare individuals for a growing relationship with Jesus, through the working of the Holy Spirit in the means of grace, in Word and Sacrament. As a LCMS congregation upon request: we baptize all ages of people into the body of Christ, we also offer Catechisis, the study of Luther's Small Catechism for young adults and adults, as they continue on their faith journey to Church membership.
We counsel Christian member couples for marriage, as well as individual counseling upon request, through the pastoral office at Mount Hope.
We share what God has graciously blessed and given to us, with those who are in spiritual or physical need--the troubled, the ill, the poor, and the lonely.
We help bereaved family members, through personal visitation, along with the planning of a divine Christian funeral service, which focuses on the Gospel message of salvation, for all who by faith believe in Jesus Christ, as their Lord and Savior.
We welcome you.

History of Mount Hope Lutheran Church, Evergreen, Colorado
When Evergreen Lutheran LCMS Church members, voted to leave the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod in 1979, four member families, loyal to the Sola Scriptural stance of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod began meeting for worship in their homes on Sunday afternoons.
This small group felt the need and received enough interest to encourage them to form a Missouri Synod Mission Church. They saw the need to share the saving Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to the unchurched living in the Evergreen and Bailey communities. Living in these two areas, at the time were over 65,000 people and over 80% were classified as unchurched. Their LCMS Mission Church requested and received a Delayed Vicar, Gary Fricke from the Seminary in August of 1979.
Mt. Hope then became a member congregation of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod during the Colorado District convention in June of 1980. In September of 1980, Vicar Gary Fricke was called to be the minister of Mt Hope in Evergreen, Colorado. Pastor Gary Fricke was later ordained and installed at Mt. Hope.
By December 31st, 1980, the congregation had grown to 50 communicant members – who were from distances as far as 45 miles away in Conifer, Bailey, and Grant, Colorado. Responding to their requests, Mt. Hope agreed to start a preaching outreach at the Fire Hall in Bailey, Colorado. Bailey was the geographical center of an area of 25,000 people within a ten mile radius. The first service was held February 17th, 1980, by Rev. Gary Fricke.
On January 19th, 1981 the Bailey mission group organized as the Shepherd of the Rockies Lutheran Church of Bailey, Colorado; and became a full member congregation of The Lutheran Church Missouri Synod at the June 1982 Colorado District Convention. Pastor Fricke of Mt. Hope took on the dual duty of being their vacancy pastor, as well as serving Mt. Hope.
Mt. Hope purchased a permanent worship location in July of 1982 located on Chestnut Drive in Evergreen.
By and through God’s grace, Mount Hope Lutheran Church LCMS, continues to serve the members and others within our mountain communities, being a light shining on the hill, pointing all to Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.
